U10 and U12 racers continue to focus on fundaments while easing into age-appropriate competition at the Genesee Valley Council Races. U10 racers are age 8 and 9; U12 racers are age 10 and 11 prior to January 1, 2023.
The U10/12 racers will be racing at Hunt Hollow, Bristol, and Brantling. The season ending Kandahar races will be in Ellicottville. We will be focusing on ski racing fundamentals and FUN! Hunt Hollow Race Team believes that the more athletes work on skill mastery at a younger level, the better they will be when the competition matters.
ALL U10/U12s MUST be members or USSA and NYSSRA. There is a late fee after October 15th if you are a returning member. YOU MUST HAVE YOUR USSA AND NYSSRA BEFORE THE FIRST OF THE YEAR. Please do this ASAP! Links can be found on the front page of this website.
EQUIPMENT NEEDS
- One pair of skis to be used for both slalom and GS.
- Helmet with hard ears and NO stickers or tech devices.
- U12/10s will be racing paneled SL gates. They do not need protective slalom gear this season but they will when they are U14s so if you have it please hold onto it.

Race details can be found on WWW.NYSSRA.ORG. Go to the U14 & younger tab and navigate the dropdown choices. Each venue will eventually have a race program posted that will outline the timeline for the day. It is a good idea to get in the habit of reading this in full before each event.
Schedule will be posted when finalized.
PRE AND POST SEASON TRAINING will be announced via email and the website, if applicable. PRE Season is anything BEFORE HOLIDAY CAMP and POST SEASON is anything after Kandahar.
